In this exciting recording the countertenor Flavio Ferri-Benedetti leads us to the operaworld of the baroque singer Domenico Annibali (1705-1779), one of the most famous and important mezzo-soprano castrato in the Europe of his time. Great composers as Händel in England, Ristori in Poland, Hasse in Germany or Porpora in Italy dedicated many of their opera roles to his voice.

Flavio Ferri-Benedetti not by chance follows in his footsteps. He feels deeply connected to this repertoire of Annibali, his variety of voice but also to the artistic context.
He brings these musical rarities close to the listener, with profound stylistic sensitivity and at the same time insatiable creativity. He always extemporaneously improvises the baroque ornamentations with pliable agiliy and delightful virtuosity.
What we hear is a perfect symbiosis between Flavio Ferri-Benedetti and the ensemble "Il Basilico", one of the top-class baroque-ensemble of specialists of the young generation, under direction of the concertmaster Eva Saladin.
